Come Fly Away Originally, the flanger effect was created by running several tape machines at the same time and mixing the minimally shifted signals against each other. Thus, one of the first guitar effects was born. The Hammertone™ Flanger creates dramatic shifts, but also subtle chains of modulation. With its top-mounted jacks and true bypass footswitch, it fits comfortably in the pedalboard.
