This type of steel string guitars gained fame thanks to the initiator of European jazz, Django Reinhardt, who caused a great sensation in the early 20th century. His virtuoso technique was unparalleled, especially due to the fact that he could only use two fingers of his left hand due to an accident.

The Maccaferri design was made famous by Selmer, and the RM-150-NT is the later version with the "petite bouche", the oval, smaller soundhole. Due to the body shape and the special bridge in combination with the tailpiece, the guitar produces a particularly powerful tone if you - like Django - act with a strong attack.
