A simpler version of the Gibson Jumbo: this historical replica captures its characteristic sound and simple aesthetic.
Pared down but still as powerful as its Jumbo siblings, the 1936 J-35 was loved for its sweet tone, smooth playability and exceptional balance. The current version offers the same punch and an authentic vintage sound. The thermally aged Adirondack red spruce top gives this guitar the rich, harmonic complexity of much older instruments. Traditional construction methods, including hand-crafted X-bracing and a dovetail joint between the neck and body, make this guitar a valuable collector's item. The mahogany neck is covered with smooth rosewood; the body is finished with a thin nitrocellulose lacquer that has been hand-polished to a vintage patina.
