Gibson 1942 Banner LG-2 - Vintage Sunburst

Built to historical specifications and thermally aged: this guitar is (like) a piece of history.

Favoured by blues and slide players for generations: this extremely well-balanced, fast-playing guitar has a surprisingly full tone given its rather compact dimensions. With the harmonic nuance of a small-bodied guitar, it delivers crystal-clear individual notes alongside a dense, full midrange. The top made of thermally aged Adirondack red spruce gives it the full sound of a decades-old guitar. The mahogany neck is carved in a historically correct profile, covered with silky rosewood and fitted with a dovetail joint between the neck and body. The instrument is finished with a thin nitrocellulose lacquer that has been sanded by hand to a vintage patina. The historical fittings include tuners appropriate to the era and a case that is true to the original.
